The Project Concept Note (PCN) is the first part of the application process which allows applicants to briefly present how ideas respond to one of the challenges set by LIFT. It is designed to provide the LIFT Review and assessment Panel (REP), which makes all the decisions on LIFT grants, with a brief outline of your business and the proposed project. You will prepare the PCN by completing this form [max. 5 pages]. Please, make it clear and concise. Applicants wanting to participate in the challenge must initially complete a PCN.
Your proposed project should fit into LIFT objectives and aims i.e. the project should significantly increase efficiency and/or reduce costs in the transport and logistics sector in the East African Community. It should also support policy change and advocacy to improve the functioning of the transport and logistics sector in the East African Community.
It will be assessed by the Review and Evaluation Panel (REP), following the PCN Assessment Criteria.
The LIFT Challenge Fund is a match grant funding instrument where the applicant is expected to contribute at least 50% of the total project budget. The minimum contribution from applicants is 150,000 US Dollars while the maximum contribution is 1,000,000 US Dollars for the overall project. The LIFT grant funding is done against reimbursable expenditures incurred.
